sunday # 1

CHURCH day 1 (06/27/2010)

church (hyde park ward) was different but it was really neat to actually KNOW that where ever you are in the world you can find a place that feels like home, when you go to church  i also experience more of the diversity that is in london three speakers spoke and they were all from different countries and had different accents it amazed me to hear a little bit about each of their lives and to hear their individual testimonies  the ward was not exactly like my home ward... and that is what helped my testimony to be strengthened because although the people and the setting were slightly different the spirit was the same

on the way back we walked through hyde through hyde park, the princess diana fountain, and into speakers corner

princess diana fountain ~

Speakers corner  was interesting there were some crazy people there that were expressing their very strong opinions  some of the topics were more interesting than others and of course being the strong willed talk-a-tive person i am a spoke up a few times and got yelled at by a legit crazy man  but it was ok because he was wrong... and crazy   it was extremely interesting especially listening to the extreme people and all the political discussions of US politics  i never knew that the british people cared so much about the president of the united states ? oh well

Later we decided to go and find another pub to watch the England v. Germany "football" game the city was crazy and the pubs were FULL we couldn't get into any of them because it cost 10 pounds just to even get in to watch the game
Unfortunately they lost... i don' t think that in all of my sheltered utah life i have heard so many swear words!! they were angry. ...

cops were everywhere and we went to trafalgar to witness a "not so big" "riot" according to a london guy we talked to here are some of the photos that i took of the people in trafalgar square mourning their teams loss

so they started to climb on the trafalgar fountain

and they stayed up there... are you wondering what the police are going to do about it ... oh here i will show you

cute eh?

yeah they didn't do anything about it ... they were just chilling there like nothing was going on... oh well it was fun to watch any way.

Our british friend told us that if they had won the whole square would have been trashed and that is when the po po usually step in... and last night (07/03/2010)  we witnessed that when Spain won ... all the fans trashed the square... the entire square was turned into a enormous "rubbish bin"

Lesson learned for today(06/27/2010) English men/women LOVE their Football
